THE BIRDS OF ZION, BRYCE, AND CEDAR BREAKS

DEFINITIONS

Permanent Resident: A bird found in the same territory throughout the year.
Summer Resident: A bird found throughout the summer and (at least presumably) breeding.
Winter Resident: A bird found throughout the winter.
Summer Visitant: A bird occurring during the summer, but not breeding.
Winter Visitant: A bird occurring irregularly during the winter.
Migrant: A bird, unless otherwise noted, occurring only in the spring or fall or both.
Abundant: Seen daily in large numbers.
Common: Seen daily, but in restricted numbers.
Fairly Common: Frequently observed.
Uncommon: Infrequently observed.
Rare: Three or less records for the area.
