The man had been shot twice with a small caliber weapon, had no ID, and was found without shoes on in a sleeping bag. The latter suggested that he had been shot elsewhere and then dropped in the park. The FBI and Roanoke County are involved in the investigation. A follow-up call was made to Chief Ranger Parr at 2:15 pm on 9/22: nothing further has been determined, except that a Roanoke night club stamp was found on the victim's hand indicating that he'd been at that club on the night of the 20th. The homicide did occur in the park; the two were homosexual partners, and T.S. killed R.L.E. when the latter refused sexual relations after they bedded down above the bank of the Roanoke River.
