Summary:
Three young male students from Chico State attempted to climb to the summit
of Mt. Lassen, but one got stranded and couldn't go either up or down.
His two companions sought help. Rangers conducted a rescue on a difficult
rock surface, employing a series of 1500' rappels to get to him. The
man was nearly hypothermic when rescued, but is doing fine.
