Day/date: November 23, 1987 FIELD INCIDENT REPORT Incident type: Fatality Log number: 87-264 Date/time of incident: 11/18 Date/time received: 11/23, am Park: Yosemite Location: White Wolfe Campground Reported by: Roger Rudolph, CR, Yosemite (via WRO) Received by: Bill Halainen, RAD, WASO Summary: Mr. F.B.M. was hiking in the park when a snowstorm apparently forced him to take shelter in a cabin near White Wolfe Campground. Because he was a diabetic and was unable to get food or medication, he went into insulin shock and died. His body was discovered there on the 20th. F.B.M. suffered through a seizure while in the Valley two weeks previous to this incident, and became extremely violent - apparently a normal reaction for him - during the time he was being transported to the hospital. Four people were apparently on board, but it has so far proven impossible to identify either the plane or the victims. All power was cut to the monument.
