J.S., 44, of Washington, D.C. attempted to rescue R.B. and had problems in the water as well. Park Police and District fire units responded and found J.S. pulseless. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. R.B., who was visiting an aunt in Washington, was transported to a local hospital where he is currently in critical condition.
