INCIDENTS
89-15 - Yellowstone - Snowmobiling Fatality
On the night of February 6th, D.A., 48, of Geraldine, Montana, was
snowmobiling on a park road with several friends when he collided with a
bison and suffered a broken neck and head and chest injuries. CPR was begun
by his friends and later continued by rangers, but without success. When
last seen, the bison was still walking around. D.A.'s friends admitted
that they had all been drinking heavily before the incident. (Dan Sholly,

89-16 - Natchez Trace - MVA with Two Visitor Fatalities
A.Q., 76, and P.Q., 80, both of Elwood, Illinois, were
killed on February 6th when their car hit ice at a high rate of speed just
south of the Meriwether Lewis Site, then slammed broadside into a tree.
Both victims died at the scene of multiple injuries. (Pat Reed, CR, NATR,

OFFICE NOTES
1) Attention regional chief rangers and regional law enforcement
specialists: Because the date of the Service's budget hearing has changed
from early April to February 23rd, we must submit briefing material to the
Director as soon as possible. Please try to expedite preparation and
submission of the annual law enforcement report. If we could receive the
information by magnafax by Tuesday, February 14th, that would be great.
Also: Please submit to us ASAP any remaining significant drug incident
