INCIDENTS

89-67 - White House - Demonstration and Arrests

On April 7th, approximately 100 persons protesting the visit of President-elect
Alfredo Christiani conducted a demonstration near the White House.
Seven of these demonstrators were arrested by the Park Police for blocking
Christiani's motorcade, disorderly conduct and assault on a police officer.
All remaining demonstrators disbursed after being ordered to do so by Park
Police officers. (RAD/NCRO).

FIRE ACTIVITY

1) Fire Situation -

a) National Park Service:

No significant new fires.

b) Other Agency:

- Taylor County #1 Fire, State of Florida (4,000 acres) - The
  fire is burning near Perry, Florida. A state of Florida
  overhead team has been committed. There's no estimate of
  containment.

- Hendry County #1 Fire, State of Florida (3,000 acres) - No
 estimate of containment.

- Dade County Fire, State of Florida (9,000 acres) - No estimate
  of containment.

- Badenton Fire, State of Florida (3,000 acres) - No estimate of
  containment.

- Collier County Fire, State of Florida (6,000 acres) - Two homes
   have been lost in this fire, which has been contained.

  Cocaine Fire, Coronado National Forest (751 acres) - Contained.

2) Fire Activity - 57 fires for 18,610 acres in 24 hours from
5:30 am MDT Sunday to 5:30 am MET Monday.

3) Fire Weather - Cloudy and cooler in north Florida with a
chance of showers. Sunny and in the 80's in south Florida.

4) Analysis - Activity has increased in southern Florida with the
onset of warm and dry conditions.

5) Prognosis - Expect activity to continue in Florida.
