INCIDENTS

90-20 - Point Reyes (California) - Follow-up on Search

On January 29th, 66-year-old B.J. of San Francisco was
reported missing following a fishing trip to the park. B.J.'s
14-foot boat was found on Limantour Beach the following day, but
Coast Guard and NPS searchers were unable to find him in the area.
On February 27th, a body tentatively identified as B.J.'s was found
at  San  Simeon  Beach,  280 miles  from  the  park.  He  was  found
floating in a life vest.  (LeeRoy Brock, CR, PORE, via

90-21 - Amistad (Texas) - Apparent Suicide

At several different times on the morning of the 27th, K.A.V.,
35, was seen on the Highway 90 bridge in the park. A Texas
Department of Public Safety officer saw her walking on the bridge
at 5:30, park maintenance workers noted her presence just after
8:00, and a Border Patrol officer saw her there at 9:15. Shortly
after noon, she was seen floating in the river. Her body was
subsequently recovered, and bruises were found, on her arm along
with cuts on her face. An investigation into the incident is
underway. Although no note was found, her death is being treated
as a suicide at this time. (Eldon Kohlman, AMIS, via CompuServe

OFFICE NOTES

1) FYI: Effective this morning, we will begin carrying regular
updates on activities in the Branch of Fire in Boise, including the
status of staff members of that office.
