RANGER ACTIVITIES DIVISION MORNING REPORT Attention: Directorate Regional and Park Chief Rangers, USPP, BIFC, FLETC CC: RAD Information Net Day/date: Wednesday, March 13, 1991 INCIDENTS 91-69 - Joshua Tree (California) - Assist on Search Eight SAR personnel from the park joined a massive search for a three and a half year old boy in the Santa Rosa Mountains outside the park's boundaries yesterday. Over 250 personnel and a number of aircraft are involved in the search, which began when the boy was reported missing on March 10th. No positive results have been reported to date. [Paul Henry, CR, JOTR, via CompuServe message from Herb Gercke, RAD/WRO, 3/12] 91-70 - Delaware Water Gap (Pennsylvania/New Jersey) - Followup on Arrests On September 11, 1990, D.B. and E.E. were arrested by park rangers while harvesting marijuana planted between rows in a corn field in the park. The arrests followed a two-month-long surveillance operation. On February 21st, D.B. pled guilty to possession with intent to manufacture and distribute marijuana (21 USC 841(a)(1)). The maximum penalty for the offense is imprisonment for a period of 20 years and/or a fine of $1 million. E.E. pled guilty to the same charges two weeks prior to Bolger's appearance. The U.S. attorney expects that each of the men will receive sentences of from four to five years in jail.
