RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
1) The Fish and Wildlife Service has a publication entitled the ENDANGERED
SPECIES TECHNICAL BULLETIN which is available to NPS employees. FWS has
advised us that they do not have many park subscribers and urge interested
persons to get on their mailing list. Contact Michael Rees at 703-358-2166.
OPERATIONAL NOTES
1) Two problems have arisen regarding new components in the uniform program:
- Pullover sweaters continue on backorder due to manufacturing problems by
the subcontractor. R&R is working to resolve these problems, and we hope
to be able to begin filling these long-delayed orders in early February.
- The entire shipment of badge patches sent to us by R&R has been lost here
in WASO. These will be reordered and should be on hand and available for
shipment to requesting park areas by early February.
Calendar appears in the morning report every other Monday. If you know of a
conference, meeting or training session with Servicewide interest and
implications, please provide the specifics to Bill Halainen in Ranger
Activities. Entries are listed no earlier than four months before the
event. An asterisk (*) indicates a new entry; a plus (+) indicates a
