INCIDENTS
92-103 - City of Rocks (Idaho) - Fall; EMS Response
On April 1st, rock climber D.E., 23, of Tremonton, Utah, fell 60 feet
to the ground while descending from a climb on Flaming Rock when his rapell
anchor failed. D.E. suffered head injuries and pelvic fractures when one
of the large boulders from which he was rapelling shifted and broke apart.
Rangers, the county search and rescue team, and the local EMS unit
stabilized and evacuated D.E., who was eventually transferred to a Life
Flight helicopter and flown to a hospital in Salt Lake City. [Maura
