INCIDENTS
93-846 - Independence (Pennsylvania) - Theft
On December 3rd, park curators discovered that a circa 1750 glaze
earthenware plate and a cornware teapot from the same era were missing from
their display case at Franklin Court. The thief apparently removed the six
screws which secured the top of the display and removed the items. There
are no suspects and the investigation continues. [Chris Andress, RCR,

93-847 - President's Park (District of Columbia) - Special Event
An estimated crowd of at least 9,000 people watched last night as the
President and Mrs. Clinton lit the national Christmas tree. This was the
80th such lighting, and President Clinton's first. The ceremony opened the
park's Pageant of Peace, which will continue through January 2nd. About 45
rangers and 55 to 60 US Park Police officers worked the event. There were
