INCIDENTS
94-36 - Grand Canyon (Arizona) - MVA with Fatality
On January 25th, the Arizona Department of Public Safety asked the park for
assistance on a two-car motor vehicle accident on Highway 264 just outside
the park involving visitors and a park concession employee. The lone
occupant of one vehicle, P.C., 48, a concession employee, was
evacuated by DPS helicopter to Flagstaff Medical, but died of her injuries
en route. The two occupants of the other vehicle were both French
nationals. One had serious injuries and was taken to park helicopter to
Flagstaff Medical; the other was less seriously injured and was transported
by park ambulance to the hospital at Grand Canyon. Both are now in stable
