NATIONAL PARK SERVICE
MORNING REPORT
To: All National Park Service Areas and Offices
From: Division of Ranger Activities, Washington Office
Day/Date: Friday, July 1, 1994
The following memorandum, entitled "Implementation of Ranger Futures", was
signed by Mike Finley, Acting Associate Director, Operations, late yesterday
afternoon and is being transmitted to all regional directors and
superintendents:
"As you know, the original implementation date for Ranger Careers was
scheduled for July 10, 1994. Due to budgetary concerns, you were advised
that we were going to delay implementation for at least one pay period.
"The appropriations committees have approved the reprogramming request and
we are now authorized to proceed. Therefore, July 10, 1994, has been
reestablished as the effective date. Accordingly, please advise your staff
that all personnel actions (including movement out of the 025 series, as
well as movement into the career ladder) will be processed effective July
10."
