RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Yellowstone (Wyoming) - Wolf Update
A monitoring flight on October 31st revealed that all wolves are doing well.
The alpha female and all eight pups in the Rose Creek pack are near their
acclimation site along with a wolf from the Crystal Bench pack. One of the
Rose Creek wolves was not located; she was last seen in the northern portion of
the park. The five Crystal Bench wolves were seen last week northeast of
Hayden Valley, but were back in the Lamar Valley on Tuesday. All the Soda
Butte wolves are together and in the Slough Creek drainage. [Cheryl Matthews,

Quotes submitted for consideration for the Morning Report should pertain to
either the National Park Service or closely related issues, such as wilderness
and conservation, and should include the author and the date and source of the
quote. A mailing list has been created for periodic dissemination of the
master list of quotes to date to interested parties. If you'd like to be on
that list, please send a note to this address.
Here's today's entry, sent by Russ Wilson in the Alaska SSO:
"The long fight to save wild beauty represents democracy at its best. It
requires citizens to practice the hardest of all virtues - self-restraint."
