Course: CROSSING BOUNDARIES IN PARK MANAGEMENT
Location: Denver Marriott City Center, Denver, CO
Details: Biennial conference of the George Wright Society, the
country's largest interdisciplinary professional
meeting devoted to park research, resource management,

Course: COMPUTERIZED SEARCH MANAGEMENT
Location: Longmire, Mt. Rainier NP, WA
Details: The course is targeted toward SAR managers, SAR
coordinators, SAR planning section chiefs, SAR
operations chiefs, SAR incident commanders and any
agency personnel who need training in the use of ICS
to manage SAR events. The course will focus on the
implementation of a newly designed computer software
program titled "Search Manager." A demo version of the
program can be downloaded off the Internet at
www.sarinfo.bc.ca. Students need to have completed
training in Managing the Search Function (MSF) ,
Managing the Search Operation (MSO) , Managing the
Lost Person Incident, Inland SAR Management or an
equivalent course.

Location: Appalachian Mountain Club Pinkham Notch Visitor
Center, Gorham, NH
Details: The Interpretive Training Institute is a cooperative
program which combines the resources and expertise of
several agencies to provide a unique learning
opportunity for natural, cultural and historical
interpreters. These agencies include the National Park
Service, White Mountain National Forest, Appalachian
Mountain Club, NH Fish and Game, Army Corps of
Engineers, NH State Parks, and the Metropolitan
District Commission. There will be two tracks - one
for new interpreters and one for advanced
interpreters.

Details: The symposium will feature nearly 20 presentations on
various topics related to land records and their
research and genealogical value and will address
future plans for the park, which include acquiring

stored at the park and made available to the public
