Open Enrollment: FUNDAMENTALS OF FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT. This intranet-
based course is designed to provide administrative, budget and financial management 
personnel with entry, developmental and full performance competencies in financial 
management processes. Tuition: $100. Refer to the announcement for registration

Fiscal Year 2002: RISK MANAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND. Closes on December 4th.  
The program provides up to $600 to each participant to apply toward the tuition for any 
entry, developmental or full performance level risk management training course. The 
training must directly apply to safety and occupational health issues and must assist 
the park safety program in meeting its goal of providing employees with the essential 
competencies to perform their duties. It is NOT to be used for mandatory or supervisory

* January 7 — 16: DRIVER INSTRUCTOR TRAINING, FLETC (DITP-202), Glynco, GA.

* January 7 — 12: DEFENSIVE TACTICS INSTRUCTOR TRAINING (DTITP-203), FLETC,

January 16 — 17: CONTRACTING OFFICER'S REPRESENTATIVE (COR) EIGHT-HOUR 
REFRESHER. BLM will be delivering this training via satellite broadcast. Please see

* January 22 — 25: CISM — BASIC PEER SUPPORT, Washington, DC. Closes on 
December 13th. CISM peer support is a collateral and volunteer duty. Peer supporters 
help fellow employees deal with "normal reactions to abnormal events." Participants will 
be taught listening skills and other CISM techniques. Contact: Regional employee

* January 28 — February 7: PHYSICAL SECURITY TRAINING, FLETC, Glynco, GA.

implementation, and/or monitoring of physical security programs. Parks with fee demo

February 11 — 15: INTRODUCTION TO PARK PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, Carlsbad, NM. 
Closes January 11th. This course is designed to provide employees from all disciplines 
with tools and processes for analyzing and accomplishing work, techniques for planning 
and organizing the work, management and accountability of funds, and evaluation of

* February 19 — 22: INSTRUCTOR TECHNIQUES FOR NON-LETHAL TRAINING

* February 25 — March 2: HISTORIC WEAPONS CERTIFICATION, Fort Blanding, Starke, 
FL. Closes on January 11th. Completion of this course fulfills the requirements of initial 
certification and recertification for supervisors and interpreters overseeing NPS historic

February 25 — June 24: BASIC LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR NATIONAL PARK RANGERS 
[NPRI-203], FLETC, Glynco, GA. Closes on January 8th. Basic LE training developed for 
the NPS and specifically designed to meet the basic training needed by rangers to
