INCIDENTS


Natchez Trace Parkway

Fatal Auto Accident


Rangers in the Ridgeland District received a report of a single-vehicle accident near milepost 135 on Tuesday, April 4th. They found that the vehicle had gone off the road and hit a tree. Extrication of the 62-year-old driver and sole occupant of the vehicle took about 45 minutes. He was taken to Leake Memorial Hospital, then to St. Dominic's for treatment of traumatic injuries. He died of his injuries on Friday, April 7th. [Charles Cuvelier, Chief Ranger]
