OTHER NEWS Other news from today's edition of InsideNPS, the National Park Service's home page: Servicewide - According to a new economic analysis released by the National Parks Conservation Association, the national parks generate at least four dollars for state and local economies in return for every one tax dollar that the government invests in the parks' budgets. Great Smoky Mountains NP - A park employee float won and award in an area holiday parade. Lewis and Clark NHP - Almost 400 people turned out for last Saturday's ceremony celebrating the completion of the new fort replica, built on the exact same spot as the 50-year-old landmark destroyed by accidental fire last year. Andersonville NHS - Joan Stibitz is retiring after 30 years of faithful service to the National Park Service. Joan currently serves as lead park ranger/interpretive specialist at Andersonville NHS and has been responsible for the site's interpretive programs and special events since 1995. Southeast Utah Group - The chief ranger positions at Arches and Canyonlands have been merged. An announcement for this new position has been issued and will close on January 24th. Fire and Aviation Management - Vacancy announcements for temporary seasonal firefighter positions are now open.
