Civil War Sites - On Tuesday, the Civil War Preservation Trust issued its annual report on the status of the nation's historic battlegrounds and identified the ten most endangered sites in the country. Harpers Ferry, Cedar Creek, Petersburg and Gettysburg were among them.


Glacier NP - Plans are being completed for the remaining work needed to repair the damage inflicted to the Going-to-the-Sun Road by last November's 'Pineapple Express' storm.


North Cascades NP - Palmer “Chip” Jenkins, Jr., has been named superintendent of North Cascades National Park, Lake Chelan National Recreation Area, and Ross Lake National Recreation Area. Jenkins, who is expected to assume his new role on April 15th, replaces William Paleck, who retired at the first of the year.


Alaska Region - Alaska Region has announced a permanent, full-time environmental protection specialist position on its environmental resources team.


Virgin Islands NP - The park has a 30-day detail opportunity for a GS-9 protection ranger for the month of May. Start and end dates are flexible.


Events - The first annual National Junior Ranger Day will be held this year during National Park Week.
