Martin Van Buren NHS - On December 7th, the park marked the 225th anniversary of Martin Van Buren's birth with a tour of his home, costumed actors, and President Van Buren himself, dozing by the hearth.

Martin Luther King Jr. NHS - The park and several partners are sponsoring an exhibit on the Soviet Union's Gulag prison system at the park's visitor center. The exhibit opened with a ceremony on December 12th and continues through February 20th.

George Washington Birthplace NM - Following nearly two years of meetings and planning, George Washington Birthplace NM and England's Sulgrave Manor have signed a sister park agreement.

Acadia NP - The first virtual tour of Acadia National Park was launched late last month. The Acadia eCruise takes participants on a virtual exploration of the park's coastal islands and the surrounding waters of the Gulf of Maine.

Natural Resource Program Center - Jim Tilmant, national fisheries program coordinator for the National Park Service, will be completing a 37-year National Park Service career when he retires on December 31st.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon NPs - Bill Tweed, the park's retired chief of interpretation and cultural resources, has received the Department of the Interior Meritorious Service Award - the second-highest departmental honor that can be granted to a career employee.
