Padre Island NS - The winter edition of National Parks Magazine has an article on the 30-year-long effort to bring Kemps ridley sea turtles back from the brink of demise.

Natural Resource Program Center - The inaugural meeting of the wild and scenic rivers steering committee was held earlier this month. The NLC has charged the committee with completing an action plan for this new program.

Office of Public Affairs - On December 12th, First Lady Laura Bush welcomed more than 200 National Park Service employees to a holiday reception at the White House. The photos from this reception have now been posted to the web.

Moores Creek NB - H. Tyrone Brandyburg has been named the new superintendent of Moores Creek. He transferred there from Tuskegee Institute, where he was chief of resource education and interpretation.

Midwest Region - Bettie Blake, volunteer coordinator for Midwest Region, is retiring on December 31st after 17 years with the National Park Service.
