Cape Hatteras NS - Significant headway was made last year on the restoration of the Bodie Island Lighthouse, but work has halted due to unforeseen structural integrity issues discovered by the contractor. Photo.


Gateway NRA - Every Wednesday, despite the winter cold, volunteer Shervin Hess revives a salt marsh in New York Bay in the park's Breezy Point section one wheelbarrow at a time.


Fire and Aviation Management - The Division of Fire and Aviation Management is pleased to announce the winners in its 2010 photo contest. Photos.


Fire and Aviation Management - Jon Rollens has been selected as the new aviation branch chief for the Division of Fire and Aviation Management. Photo.


Alaska Region - Rebecca Talbott has been named Alaska Region's chief of interpretation and education. She assumes her new duties on February 27th.


Office of Communications - Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks Jane Lyder has been named acting superintendent of Grand Canyon National Park.


Upcoming Training and Conference Calendar - A compilation of upcoming training courses and conferences across the nation through May 23rd, plus online training. Added to this week's calendar are the following courses - a wilderness stewardship training course, a ranger special operations training session, park medic refresher training at Yosemite, and a DOI-sponsored ICS unit leader and command and general staff academy.
