Fort McHenry NM&HS - The 150th anniversary of President Lincoln's trip from Baltimore to Washington was recreated last week. It marked the kickoff of the NPS commemoration of the Civil War - “From Civil War to Civil Rights.”


Independence NHP - Ranger Julie Weir was tragically killed last week in a motor vehicle collision while en route from her permanent position at Independence NHP to a new position at Klondike Goldrush NHP, scheduled to start at the end of her field training in Yosemite NP. Photo.


Natural Resource Program Center - Vincent Santucci has joined the Geologic Resources Division as the senior geologic resources program official. He will be based in the Washington Office. Photo.


Legislative and Congressional Affairs - This week's update on past and upcoming hearings and the status of legislation pertinent to the NPS. Today's summary includes five separate DOI or NPS FY 2012 appropriations hearings over the next ten days.
