NATIONAL PARK SERVICE MORNING REPORT Wednesday, March 9, 2011 INCIDENTS United States Park Police Motorcycle Officer Critically Injured In Crash USPP motorcycle officer David Fowler was critically injured in a crash on Wednesday, March 2nd. Fowler was on patrol on northbound Interstate 395 near 7th Street Southwest in Washington when the motorcycle crash happened. Fowler sustained serious injuries to his heel, tibia, fibula, femur, humerus, and internal organs. A USPP helicopter medevaced him to the trauma center at MedStar/Washington Hospital Center. He is facing several rounds of surgery and a substantial recovery period. He and his family would enjoy notes from his National Park Service family. Please direct all notes to: Capt. She has been approved as a leave share recipient and will be spending a great deal of time helping Dave as he regains his mobility. She would genuinely appreciate any leave that her NPS family might be able to share. [Sergeant David Schlosser, Public Information Officer] Grand Teton NP Concession Employee Sentenced For Embezzlement J.N.H., an employee of Signal Mountain Lodge, was found to have embezzled $17,714.72 during her shifts as a cashier between last May 27th and August 1st. On November 23rd, following the indictment, arrest, and transport back to the District of Wyoming, J.N.H. pled guilty to theft and embezzlement, in violation of 18 USC 661. On February 24th, she was sentenced to time served (164 days), three years supervised release, and restitution in the amount of $19,244.40.
