The burn was ignited by a representative of the Amah Mutsun tribe. Office of Communications - The first round of competition in “Parks for the People: A Studio Competition to Re-imagine America's National Parks” has concluded. Teams from nine colleges and universities advanced from a field of 41 entries to design studio exercises and face a second jury review next summer. Northeast Region - A check for $309,000 has been presented to Flight 93 Memorial to help the memorials construction. US Park Police - Services will be held next week for Park Police Sergeant Michael Boehm, who died while responding to an incident on December 16th. Details are provided on both the services and on the wearing of mourning bands on badges. National Capital Region - Carol A. Pollio has been named the new chief of natural resources and science for National Capital Region. She assumed her new duties this past Monday. Grand Canyon NP - Dan Oltrogge, the park's chief of fire and aviation, will retire at the end of December after 31 years with the National Park Service.
