INCIDENTS

Amistad NRA

Man Involved In Armed Standoff Sentenced

On February 13, 2010, C.H. and a female companion led officers from several agencies in a vehicle pursuit, reportedly with shots fired, through the city of Del Rio and then into Amistad NRA (click on HYPERLINK "http://classicinside.nps.gov/headline.cfm?type=Incidents&id=4959" this link for the original report). After their vehicle became stuck, they ran into the brush and an armed standoff ensued for two and a half hours. It ended when a Texas DPS ranger shot C.H. in the wrist. As a result of this incident, C.H. was found guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm. On April 23rd, C.H. was sentenced in federal court to 72 months in federal prison (with credit for time served), three years supervised release, and $100 in court costs.
