Non-NPS employees can see most of them on the NPS Digest page ( HYPERLINK "http://home.nps.gov/applications/digest/" http://home.nps.gov/applications/digest/): Everglades NP - A ribbon-cutting event was held December 19th for a potential new type of park lodging - the Flamingo “Eco-Tent.” Everglades National Park partnered with the University of Miami and the South Florida National Parks Trust to develop this prototype structure, an important step in the effort to rebuild Flamingo in a sustainable manner. Canyonlands NP - Denny Ziemann, chief ranger at Canyonlands and Arches National Parks, will be retiring on January 3rd after 34 years with the National Park Service. Fort Pulaski NM - Randy Wester, superintendent at Fort Pulaski National Monument, will be retiring on January 3rd after nearly 38 years of federal service, more than 33 with the National Park Service.
