Kennesaw Mountain NBP - A new park program, entitled "Teens, Trails, and Trenches," provided students, many of whom had neither visited a national park nor worked in the woods before, with an opportunity to rehabilitate overused and exhausted trails.


Wilderness Stewardship - Recipients of the 2011 Director's Wes Henry National Excellence in Wilderness Stewardship Award received formal recognition and celebrated their accomplishments in events held over the past few months. Nominations for the 2012 awards are due by January 31st through the consolidated call for NPS awards.


United States Park Police - Captain G. William Davis, the regional law enforcement specialist for Northeast Region, retired on December 29th.


Pacific West Region - Dan Foster has been selected as the new superintendent for Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area and Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail.
