Golden Gate NRA - In 2009, Golden Gate launched an initiative to begin eliminating the disparity between parks offering the best of nature but some of the worst of gastronomy, focusing first on food services at Muir Woods. The café there has since become an enormous success for all involved, broadly recognized for its outstanding food.


Yosemite NP - Yosemite National Park released two significant river plans for public review and comment last Tuesday. These important plans, the Merced River Plan and Tuolumne River Plan, encompass most of the developed areas within the park.  


Legislative and Congressional Affairs - This week's update on past and upcoming hearings, newly introduced bills, and the status of legislation of interest to the National Park Service. This report covers the week ending on Friday, January 11th.


Southeast Region - Ricardo P. Perez has been selected as the new superintendent at Moores Creek National Battlefield in North Carolina.


Cultural Resources - Amberleigh Malone and Jeannie Nguyen have joined the cultural resources directorate's business office as administrative coordinators.
