Saguaro NP - Members of the Southwest Conservation Corps assisted the park this week with the removal of graffiti along a popular park trail. The clean-up project was arranged in response to significant vandalism that occurred last month, including the tagging of 48 sites along three-and-a-half miles of the wilderness trail.
Office of Risk Management - The winners of the highest awards bestowed by the National Park Service for outstanding public and employee safety achievement for the individual and group categories for 2012 have been selected.
Office of Communications - The National Park Service has awarded more than $3.3 million in grants to help preserve more than 200 acres of land at five of America's Civil War battlefields -- Ball's Bluff, Brandy Station, Chickamauga, First Deep Bottom, and Second Manassas.
US Park Police - On May 18th, the United States Park Police's San Francisco Field Office participated in the fifth annual San Francisco Bike Build. This event provides new bicycles, safety equipment, and bicycle safety classes to disadvantaged youth throughout the greater Bay Area.
Intermountain Region - John Reber, energy coordinator for Intermountain Region, is retiring on June 28th after 22 years with the National Park Service.
Lowell NHP - Ranger Alex Demas retired on May 31st after 33 years of federal service at Lowell National Historical Park.
Servicewide Training Calendar - A new FLETC training course has been added to this week's calendar.
