War of 1812 Bicentennial - The National Park Service continues to collaborate with Parks Canada, Indian tribes, and other partners to commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812 and to bring the stories and legacies of this conflict to wider and underserved audiences in meaningful and relevant ways.
Harpers Ferry Center - "The Ends Of The Earth," a film produced by Harpers Ferry Center for Katmai National Park, won this year's student jury award at the Sondrio Festival, an international documentary film festival on parks held annually in Italy.
Park Facility Management Division - Yellowstone held a two-day-long Climate Friendly Parks workshop in September. The workshop provided a platform for park staff and others to identify future sustainability and climate change response actions and opportunities for collaboration on these efforts.
Wind Cave NP - Ranger Mary Laycock, who began working at Wind Cave in the spring of 1979, will retire this month after 34 years at the park. A retirement party will be held on November 15th.
Delaware Water Gap NRA - Superintendent John Donahue was recognized in Congress in September for his leadership in founding Common Waters, a watershed conservation organization for the Delaware River.
Law Enforcement, Security and Emergency Services - Andrew Goodrich and Katrina Reyes of the Washington Office were the personal guests of the commandant of the Marine Corps at a recent event at the Marine Barracks in Washington.
