Boston NHP - Over 200 people gathered at the World War II destroyer USS Cassin Young in the Charlestown Navy Yard on December 7th to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the 1941 attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor.


Independence NHP - For the first time since the printing office opened in Franklin Court, park rangers at Independence National Historical Park are printing a copy of Benjamin Franklin's original Pennsylvania Gazette.


Office of Legislative and Congressional Affairs - This week's update on past and upcoming hearings, newly introduced bills, and the status of legislation of interest to the National Park Service. This report covers activities in Congress for the week ending December 6th.


United States Park Police - Deputy Chief Robert MacLean has been named the acting chief of the United State Park Police, effective December 6th.


NPS Alumni - Retired NPS Special Agent Gary Pace died in a hunting accident on December 2nd. Gary's career with the NPS spanned 32 years as a law enforcement ranger, wildland firefighter, firearms instructor, and special agent.
