NATIONAL PARK SERVICE MORNING REPORT Tuesday, January 21, 2014 INCIDENTS Acadia NP Body Found At Schooner Head Just after noon on January 14th, park dispatch received a 911 report from hikers of a motionless man alongside the rocks near the Schooner Head Overlook Trail. They said that the man appeared to be dead. Rangers responded and found the body of a 67-year-old man from Boxford, Massachusetts. The apparent cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Information from the family and his medical history suggested that he committed suicide. The autopsy confirmed that information. Supervisory Park Ranger Will Overton is the lead investigator.
