Sleeping Bear Dunes NL - President Obama signed a law into effect late last week that designates 32,557 acres of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Michigan as wilderness, the first congressional designation under the Wilderness Act since 2009. 


Wilderness Stewardship Division - Selections have been announced for the upcoming Wilderness Forever photography exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC.


Geologic Resources Division - The Geologic Resources Division is announcing a call for proposals from NPS units and central offices for fall and winter 2014/2015 Geoscientists-in-the-Parks (GIP) internship positions. Submissions are due by April 1st.


Stephen T. Mather Training Center - Mather Training Center, which will mark its 50th anniversary on Thursday, April 17th, is seeking “time capsule” videos from anyone with memories of attending courses or meetings at the center. Submissions are due by April 1st.


Office of Legislative and Congressional Affairs - This week's update on past and upcoming hearings, newly introduced bills, and the status of legislation of interest to the National Park Service. This report covers activities in Congress for the week ending March 14th.
