Office of Communications - Director Jarvis will hold his sixth webchat today from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Eastern. This webchat will focus on what the NPS is doing to address and improve employee engagement. NOTE: This is internal to the NPS only.


Office of Partnerships and Philanthropic Stewardship - The National Park Foundation has teamed with Disney on the new Disneynature film, “Bears,” which will premiere on April 18th, just in time for Earth Day and National Park Week. For every ticket sold on the first week, Disneynature will make a contribution to NPF.


Office of Communications - The NPS and the River Management Society have joined together to publish a guide to help river managers, planners, boaters and water trail leaders plan for and build access to waterways.


Heritage Preservation Assistance Programs - In February, the Schuylkill River Heritage Area opened a unique exhibit at Valley Forge National Historical Park that features 42 illustrations of the Revolutionary War by 16 different artists whose work originally appeared in 19th century publications.


Scotts Bluff NM - On March 6th, the American Society of Landscape Architects announced selection of Scotts Bluff's trails plan for a merit award. One innovative part of the plan was the development of “E-trails,” or electronic trails - trails that exist only as GPS waypoints.


Fire and Aviation Management - Paul Cerda is this year's recipient of the second annual Rick Gale Award. Cerda, the superintendent of the National Park Service's Alpine Interagency Hotshot Crew, is stationed at Rocky Mountain National Park.


Hot Springs NP - Steve Rudd, Hot Spring National Park's natural resource program manager, is retiring on April 3rd after 34 years with the National Park Service.
