Rangers Assist At Multiple Casualty Incident

On the evening of Friday, September 26th, rangers joined in a major mutual aid response to an accident involving a tractor trailer and a school bus on Interstate 35.

The truck was travelling northbound when it crossed the median into the southbound lane of traffic and collided with a bus carrying 16 members of the North Central Texas College women's softball team.

Rangers assisted in triage and providing patient care to the 17 people injured in the accident. Unfortunately, three people on the bus died at the scene and a fourth later died of her injuries at a local hospital in Sulphur.

At least nine other agencies in the area responded to this accident. It is being investigated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the National Transportation Safety Board.
