NATIONAL PARK SERVICE MORNING REPORT Friday, November 7, 2014 INCIDENTS Rocky Mountain NP Man Arrested On First Degree Murder Charges H.H., 58, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, was arrested without incident Wednesday morning by NPS and FBI special agents following his indictment for first degree murder in the death of his wife. The indictment was returned by a federal grand jury in Denver on November 5th. According to the indictment, H.H. “willfully, deliberately, maliciously, and with premeditation and malice aforethought” killed his wife in the park on or about September 29, 2012. If convicted, H.H. faces a mandatory life term in federal prison without the possibility of parole, as well as a fine of up to a $250,000. This case was investigated by the National Park Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office provided assistance during the investigation and arrest. Gulf Islands NS - Ranger Prashant Lotwala has joined the park staff as the new district ranger for Gulf Island's Florida District. Gulf Islands NS - Ranger Sandy Tennyson has joined the parks resource education division as a supervisory park ranger. She comes to Gulf Island from the National Mall and Memorial Parks.
