NATIONAL PARK SERVICE MORNING REPORT Wednesday, November 12, 2014 INCIDENTS Jefferson NEM Rangers Join In Capture Of Man Wanted For Stabbing Ranger Coty Stief was contacted by the Saint Louis City Police Department on November 3rd and advised that they were looking for a man wanted for felonious restraint, assault, and stabbing a woman in a warehouse adjacent to park property. The man was a transient known to live in that warehouse district and had two pit bulls with him as he fled the area. Rangers Stief, Linwood Vaughan and Sean Beasley searched the park for the man and gave his description to park dispatcher Jessica Crockwell, who was monitoring closed circuit television cameras installed throughout the park. Shortly thereafter, she radioed rangers that a man matching the description given was in park jurisdiction near the park's grounds maintenance facility. Rangers contacted the man; verbal commands were given to him at gunpoint, including instructions to keep firm control of his dogs. Saint Louis PD and animal control officers soon arrived on scene. The dogs were secured by animal control and rangers assisted police in arresting the man.
