OTHER NEWS The following stories are among those in today's webpage editions of InsideNPS (available to NPS employees only) and the Morning Report (available to all readers): Alaska Region - During the week of December 2nd, Alaska Regional Office hosted its first ever Webapalooza for web authors in the Alaska parks and regional programs. It was a great success. Environmental Quality Division - The draft revised Director's Order 12 Handbook (NPS NEPA Handbook) is available for NPS review and comment on the Planning, Environment and Public Comment website through February 13th. National Mall - The American Express Foundation has provided a $1 million grant for the restoration and preservation of the Lockkeeper's House on the National Mall. The 177-year-old house is the oldest existing structure on the Mall. Southeast Arizona Group - Lane Baker, superintendent of the Southeast Arizona Group (Chiricahua NM, Coronado NM, and Fort Bowie NHS), will be retiring on December 27th after over 30 years with the NPS. Midwest Region - Brenda M. Waters, currently acting superintendent for Pea Ridge National Military Park, has been selected as superintendent for William Howard Taft National Historic Site. Alaska Region - After 34 years of public service, John Morris, the interpretive program manager for the Alaska Regional Office, will be retiring on December 31st.
