OTHER NEWS The following stories are among those in today's webpage editions of InsideNPS (available to NPS employees only) and the Morning Report (available to all readers): Selma to Montgomery NHT - President Obama, numerous dignitaries and more than 40,000 people gathered at the foot of the Edmund Pettus Bridge this weekend to commemorate the 50th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday,” a watershed moment in the Civil Rights Movement. An NPS incident management team with 70 employees from 23 parks supported the event. George Washington Birthplace NM - On February 22nd, the park hosted a celebration of the anniversary of George Washington's birthday that included links to the upcoming NPS centennial and the opening of the historic Log House Tea Room and Lodge to the public. Office of Legislative and Congressional Affairs - This week's update on past and upcoming hearings, newly introduced bills, and the status of legislation of interest to the Service. This report covers activities in Congress through March 6th. Glacier NP - Lisa Brewster, the administrative officer for Glacier National Park, retired at the end of February with 30 years of service to the National Park Service. Southeast Region - Jill Jaworski has been selected as the new chief ranger for Cape Lookout National Seashore. She is currently a supervisory protection ranger at Castillo de San Marcos/Fort Matanzas.
