Keweenaw NHP - Over the course of several days in late February and early March, the park and area communities hosted the sixth annual CopperDog 150, a sled dog race that features teams of ten dogs and covers 150 miles in three days.


US Park Police - Patrick C. Smith has been promoted to the position of assistant chief of the United States Park Police. He has 28 years of service with the Park Police, including 16 years in command level positions.


Office of Legislative and Congressional Affairs - Brian Joyner and Pamela Rice were selected in December as the National Park Service's Bevinetto Fellows for 2015-2016. They began the program in early February.


Everglades NP - History came alive on March 7th at the Fifth Annual Everglades National Park Vintage Day. Over 50 volunteers and six paid staff brought to life the “dreamers and schemers” who left a legacy on park's the landscape.


Land Resources Division - Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park has received its first parcel of land. The acquisition, completed in February, includes a newly rehabilitated structure that serves as the park's visitor welcome center.


Gulf Islands NS - Last week, park staff participated in a wilderness fundamentals workshop conducted by the Arthur Carhart Wilderness Training Center. Roughly 30 people attended the workshop, representing all divisions within the park.
