MOUNT RAINIER NATURE NEWS NOTES
Vol. II December 1, 1924 No. 15

WINTER WEATHER

As we "go to press" the weather is ideal on the Mountain and the weather man promises as many such days to come. The mean maximum temperature in Paradise Valley recently has been between 30 and 40 degrees with a minimum of 16 above. Five feet of snow remains in the Valley.

Longmire still has 10 inches of snow and temperatures ranging between 20 and 35 degrees above zero. There is now snow below Tahoma Creek, and the road is in good shape to Longmire with a splendid sled road broken to Van Trump Camp three miles above Longmire Springs.

The Paradise trail is broken and a good many people are making the snowshoe trip from Longmire to the Valley.
