SKULL OF COUGAR EXHIBITED

Considerable interest is being displayed in the prepared skull of a cougar or mountain lion on exhibit at the naturalist's office.

The striking feature of this typically "cat" skull is the remarkable set of teeth. They are clearly designed for holding and cutting, no grinding. Like all the cat tribe, the cougar bolts his food in chunks.

The canines are more than an inch in length while the incisors in between are less than one quarter inch in length. The precision with which these cutting teeth meet is remarkable.
