CONCLUSION

We have seen that the nature of the rocks, earth forces, and erosional agents have worked together to produce the scenery we see today. And it is worth remembering that, geologically speaking, this scene is but an instant in an endless evolutionary process. The traveler in the Olympics sees only one or two frames of a geologic motion picture lasting millions of years.

Snavely recognized the existence of Ancient Lake Morse. Charles F. Park and Wallace M. Cady contributed to our knowledge of rock distribution and formation of the splintered slates.
