The work presented here has been supported by a variety of individuals over the past months. I would especially like to thank Steve Mark, Historian for the National Park Service at Crater Lake National Park, for his assistance in locating records and source documents for the Chateau. Without his help, the task of acquiring historic documents would have been extremely cumbersome. At the Oregon Caves National Monument, Bruce Schilliger of the Estey Corporation was a great help, providing unlimited access to the building and alerting me to both past and current problems with the building. My gratitude also goes out to the NPS staff at the Monument for encouraging me in this endeavor.
