The Washington Tree
The sizes of individual trees are difficult to measure for comparison
with each other. Few have been accurately measured. The Washington
Tree, close rival of the General Sherman and General Grant trees, is in
a setting that emphasizes its great size. Photo by Howard R. Stagner,

who were active in the establishment and enlargement of Sequoia National
Park. Photo by Howard R. Stagner, National Park Service
