Administration
Saguaro National Monument is administered by the
National Park Service of the United States Department of the Interior. A
superintendent and several park rangers live in the monument. They
maintain and protect the area and provide assistance and interpretive
service for you. Other national monuments in the vicinity include
Chiricahua an area of weird rock formations in extreme southeastern
Arizona; Tumacacori, an old Spanish Mission on U. S. 89 between Tucson
and Nogales; Organ Pipe Cactus featuring strange plants of the Sonoran
Desert, on the Mexican border about 140 miles west of Saguaro; and Casa
Grande, spectacular remains of a prehistoric Indian village, about
halfway between Phoenix and Tucson.
