Summary:
A severe storm and accompanying heavy rains caused flooding which led to the
closure of all park roads and isolated the Furnace Creek area overnight.
Approximately 15,000 persons were affected, many of them participants in
a Forty-Niner encampment in the park. All park roads were reopened on the
morning of November 6th except for the road to Scotty's Castle. No
information was available concerning the extent of flood damage in the park.
