NOTES

1) Ranger Paul Berkowitz of Whiskeytown has received an award 
from the California Highway Patrol and California State 
Automobile Association which is given to uniformed officers for 
outstanding efforts in recovering stolen cars and/or arresting 
auto thieves.  Berkowitz, who has worked for the NPS for 15 
years, arrested six suspected car thieves and helped recover six 
stolen vehicles last year. [Herb Gercke, RAD/WRO]
